Czech: noun declension patterns
A declension pattern is a model of forms, not a meaning category. First identify gender, then compare forms: škola–školy behaves like žena–ženy, although a school is not a person.
| Example | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| škola / školy ↔ žena / ženy | Feminine gender and matching changes point to žena. |
| ulice / ulice ↔ růže / růže | This pair follows a different model: růže. |
