Czech: object versus place adverbial
An object complements a verb and answers a case question other than nominative or vocative: reads what? knihu. A place adverbial answers where, to where or from where: reads where? v parku. The relationship matters, not merely a preposition.
| Example | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| Eva čte knihu. → co? knihu | Knihu is the object of reading. |
| Eva čte v parku. → kde? v parku | V parku gives the place of reading. |

Watch out: A prepositional phrase can also be an object: myslí na kamaráda. Looking for prepositions alone is insufficient.
