Czech: imperfective and perfective aspect
An imperfective verb presents an event without bounding it as a whole: psát. A perfective presents it as bounded: napsat. This is not past versus future; both napsal and napíše are perfective.
| Example | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| psát → budu psát | Imperfective psát forms the future with budu. |
| napsat → napíšu | Perfective napsat has a simple form with future meaning. |
